New Balance #2, 2018

30.03.18 – 30.04.18

New Balance #2 is a site specific photographic work that depicts vibrant yet grimy high tech textiles, foams and rubbers. Recalling striations of Earthís crust, this work specifically references the planetís uppermost layers as they are embedded with environmental pollutants including textile materials and residues from their manufacturing.

Meghan Price is a Toronto-based artist. Her visual arts practice was founded in the craft of weaving and prominently features textile methods and materials. Recent exhibition sites include AKA Artist-run (Saskatoon), Untitled Art Society (Calgary), The Center for Craft Creativity & Design (Asheville) and The Art Gallery of Southwestern Manitoba (Brandon). Price has held residencies at Artspace (Sydney), Open Studio (Toronto), the Scottish Sculpture Workshop (Lumsden) and the Banff Centre. She holds a DEC in Textile Construction from the Montreal Centre for Contemporary Textiles (2003) and an MFA from Concordia University (2009).
