Chris Foster
Infill, 2016

26.08.16 – 17.10.16

Infill is a series of small sculptures constructed from building debris scavenged from the human-made peninsula known as the Leslie Street Spit in Toronto, Ontario.

Chris Foster is a multidisciplinary visual artist, designer and carpenter currently based in Toronto. He graduated from NSCAD University in 2008 with an interdisciplinary BFA. Foster’s creative process is motivated by production-based projects, multiples and editions. His artwork investigates material culture, the built environment and architectural vernacular. Foster often employs a dark sense of humour to navigate perceptions of optimism and hopelessness in contemporary life while challenging popular notions of progress dominant in Western culture.
