Varvara Nedilska
The Drifters, 2015

05.06.15 – 07.07.15

The Drifters is a mixed-media sculpture which explores the personal and social boundaries of life in the city. The characters it depicts are a group of people that, although separate, appear as a hovering cloud, acting as impartial observers of their surroundings. They represent the groups of people who “drift” in a similar way through the urban environment, safe and comfortable in their personal bubbles.

Varvara Nedilska is a mixed-media artist and illustrator. She graduated from the Visual Arts program at Etobicoke School of the Arts and will be attending OCAD University in the fall of 2015. Her work has been exhibited in group shows at Parsons in New York, Albright Knox Gallery in Buffalo, and Earl Selkirk Gallery in Toronto.
