Heather Goodchild
The Below is like the Above

22.08.08 – 08.10.08

Heather Goodchild is intrigued by the symbolism of Freemasonry, alchemy, religion and the mysteries and hidden dangers lurking in fairy tales. She works with fibre to create felt mosaics and sculptural creatures that inhabit her dioramas. For The Below is like the Above, Heather has transformed the tall QueenSpecific vitrine into a cathedral where trees stand in for pillars and beasts come to supplicate.

Heather Goodchild lives and works in Toronto and is represented by Katharine Mulherin Contemporary Art Projects (www.katharinemulherin.com).
